SimplyMove (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we collect when you use the SimplyMove app and the website simplymove.nl, why we collect it, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.
In short: we collect what is needed to run your account, your daily movement plan and your progress. We do not show ads, we do not use analytics or tracking tools, we do not collect your location, and we do not sell your data. You can delete your account and data at any time in the app.
1. Who is responsible
SimplyMove is the controller of your personal data. Contact: info@simplymove.nl, website simplymove.nl.
2. Data we collect in the app
- Account – your email address and password (required to create an account and log in, and to send password-reset emails). Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our backend provider. The app assigns your account a random user ID.
- Name – the first name, last name and/or display name you enter during onboarding, used to personalise the app (for example a welcome message).
- Preferences and schedule – your chosen mode, time window, number of exercises per day, programme, chosen exercises, whether reminders are on, and whether onboarding is complete. We use this to build your daily plan and reminder times.
- Progress and sessions – your daily plan, which exercises you started, completed or snoozed, repetitions, duration and completion times, and – if you choose to enter them – a self-rating score and notes about how an exercise felt. We use this to show your progress and plan your next days. Please note: anything you type in a note is stored as you wrote it. If you mention health matters there, that is your choice; you do not have to.
- Profile photo (optional) – if you add one, from your gallery or by taking a photo. The camera is used only for this; the app does not record video and does not analyse camera images. Your profile photo is stored at a public web address: anyone who has that link can view the image. The link contains your random user ID, not your name. Do not upload a photo you do not want to be viewable this way. You can remove the photo in the app at any time.
- Founder Pro purchase (optional) – if you buy or restore Founder Pro, payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your card or bank details. We store the product, its status, the Google Play order ID and purchase token, linked to your account, so Pro works on all your devices. If you take part as a tester, we may grant Founder Pro to your account manually.
Stored only on your device: your app language, timer and reminder settings, whether you have seen the introduction, and a local cache (for example of your home screen, profile photo and Pro status) so the app works quickly and offline. This data does not leave your phone. Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone; we do not use push notifications or push tokens.
Exercise videos and audio are streamed from our backend provider. As with any internet connection, this involves your IP address, but we do not link it to your profile.
3. What we do not collect
- No advertising and no advertising ID.
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools.
- No location data.
- No contacts, no microphone, no access to your files beyond a photo you pick yourself.
- No camera analysis or AI processing of images.
- No structured health data (such as weight, injuries, or medical conditions).
4. Data we collect on the website
- Founder waitlist and tester sign-up – if you use these forms, we receive your email address and, for testers, your name, the Gmail address of your Google Play account and optionally your app email. We use this to send you the tester link or Founder news and, for testers, to add your Gmail address to the Google Play tester list and grant Pro on your app account. The forms are processed by Formspree.
- Gumroad – the Desk Reset and Team Kit are sold via Gumroad. When you buy there, Gumroad processes your order under its own privacy policy.
- The website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operation.
5. Why we may process your data (GDPR legal bases)
- Performance of a contract – to provide your account, plan, reminders, progress and Founder Pro.
- Consent – for optional data you choose to provide (profile photo, notes, waitlist and tester sign-ups). You can withdraw consent at any time by removing the data or contacting us.
- Legitimate interests – to keep the service secure and working.
- Legal obligations – for example keeping purchase-related records where the law requires it.
6. Who processes your data for us
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with these service providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Supabase – our backend: account login, database (profile, preferences, plan, progress, Pro status), storage of profile photos and streaming of exercise media.
- Google Play – app distribution, updates and in-app update checks, and payment for Founder Pro. Google’s billing library also sends technical billing logs to Google. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
- TransIP – hosting of simplymove.nl and sending of emails, such as password-reset emails.
- Formspree – processing of the website forms (waitlist and tester sign-up).
We may also disclose data to authorities when required by law.
7. Security and international transfers
All data between the app and our backend is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures. Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply.
8. How long we keep your data
- App data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your account, profile, preferences, plan, progress, notes, Pro status and profile photo are deleted. Requests by email are handled within 30 days.
- Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Waitlist and tester sign-ups are kept until the Founder launch or test is over, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Google Play keeps its own records of purchases under Google’s policies.
9. Deleting your account and data
- In the app: open Profile → “Delete account” (Dutch: “Account verwijderen”) and confirm. Your account and all related data, including your profile photo, are deleted, and you are logged out. This cannot be undone.
- By email: send a request to info@simplymove.nl from the email address of your account. We delete your account and data, including your profile photo, within 30 days.
More information: simplymove.nl/delete-account.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- correct inaccurate data
- have your data deleted
- restrict or object to certain processing
- data portability
- withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@simplymove.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
11. Children
SimplyMove is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app or website changes in a way that affects your data. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email.
